Creative Spaces designed a travelling exhibition celebrating two centuries of Chinese heritage in Western Australia. Discover Making Home under Southern Skies: Two Centuries of Chinese Heritage in Western Australia shares personal stories of migration, settlement and cultural exchange, highlighting the lasting contributions of Chinese communities across the state.

The brief required an exhibition that could travel easily while remaining visually strong and culturally respectful. Content needed to be accessible to diverse audiences and support inclusion and clarity across multiple venues.

The exhibition design combines graphic panels, archival imagery and illustration to create a clear narrative thread. Colour palettes and materials reference both Chinese traditions and Western Australian coastal landscapes, reinforcing connections between culture and place. Typography and layout were carefully considered to ensure content remained legible and balanced.

The resulting exhibition provides a contemporary, engaging experience that invites reflection and understanding. It offers audiences a deeper appreciation of how Chinese communities have shaped Western Australia’s shared history and identity.
