Creative Spaces designed a temporary exhibition for Curtin University’s newly refurbished library, with the aim of highlighting the library’s history while inviting students to imagine its future. The exhibition was positioned near the library entrance to ensure it was highly visible and accessible.
The brief called for an experience that felt student-focused and inviting. Playful and unexpected design elements encouraged visitors to interact with the exhibition and share their ideas about how the library could support learning and community into the future.
The design drew inspiration from the colour palettes and graphic styles of catalogues and books from the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Bright colours, a youthful typeface and bold graphics were used to capture attention and create an energetic atmosphere.
The exhibition created a memorable experience that reflected both the library’s legacy and its ongoing evolution. It reinforced the importance of the TL Robertson Library as a place for learning, connection and exchange.
