Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre is located within Herdsman Lake Regional Park, the largest wetland in Perth’s
inner metropolitan area. The centre has played an important role in environmental education for decades.
Creative Spaces was engaged by the WA Gould League to revitalise the centre and update its exhibition offering. The brief was to create an engaging, educational experience suitable for visitors of all ages.
The new exhibition includes live wildlife displays, specimens, interactive elements, bird-watching opportunities, audio content and multimedia. Dual-language labelling in Noongar identifies native species and strengthens connections to Country.
The renewed centre offers a welcoming and immersive learning environment. It supports environmental awareness and encourages visitors to better understand the wetland ecosystem.
