Creative Spaces was involved in the Kalbarri Skywalk (Kaju Yatka) project from its earliest stages. The team worked closely with the Nanda Advisory Group and government stakeholders over several years to develop interpretation grounded in cultural knowledge and place.
On-site visits and ongoing consultation shaped the interpretive approach. Stories shared by Nanda families informed both content and design, ensuring cultural knowledge was embedded meaningfully and respectfully.
Interpretation draws inspiration from the Murchison River and surrounding landscape. Weathered steel beams form the centrepiece of the experience, with artwork and illustrations by Nanda artists integrated throughout. Creative Spaces also designed the dual-language logo, orientation structure and multimedia elements.
The completed interpretation supports cultural recognition while enhancing visitor understanding of Country.
