To mark 60 years of broadcasting in Western Australia, Nine Perth partnered with WA Museum Boola Bardip to present a free public exhibition in the Beaufort Link gallery. The brief was to create an engaging exhibition that celebrated the broadcaster’s history while activating a high-traffic public space.
Creative Spaces worked closely with Nine Perth and the museum’s exhibition team to develop a clear narrative that highlighted key moments, technologies and people from the station’s history. The exhibition brought together large-scale graphics, interpretive panels and a curated selection of broadcast artefacts.
Digital content added depth to the experience, with monitors displaying archival footage and iconic television moments. Environmental design elements such as floor graphics, lighting and a large-scale projection by motion designer Rachel Wong extended the exhibition beyond the gallery, creating a strong public presence. A printed souvenir booklet was also developed as a takeaway item, providing a keepsake for visitors to reflect on the station’s legacy.
The completed exhibition transformed a transitional space into a lively cultural moment. It offered visitors an accessible and engaging way to reflect on the role of broadcast media in Western Australian life, while demonstrating how exhibition design can bring contemporary relevance to well-known stories.
