Creative Spaces worked with St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls to design the St Hilda’s Heritage Centre, a dedicated space for preserving and sharing the school’s long history. For more than 125 years, the school has collected photographs, records and personal memorabilia that offer insight into the lives of students, teachers and principals across generations.
The project formed part of a broader building restoration led by architect Christou. Historian Prue Griffin developed the overarching narrative for the Centre, with detailed content written by old scholar Pam Casellas. Creative Spaces worked closely with the wider team to translate this narrative into a clear and engaging physical experience.
The Heritage Centre was designed as a flexible, carefully curated space. Custom showcases and a purpose-built hanging system allow objects and exhibition panels to be updated over time. The material palette draws inspiration from historic school uniforms, creating a warm and welcoming environment that reflects different eras of the school’s history.
The completed Centre demonstrates St Hilda’s commitment to preserving its heritage and sharing it with the community. It provides a place where visitors can connect with the past while supporting the school’s ongoing story.
