As part of a broader site redevelopment, St John WA engaged Creative Spaces to redesign the exhibition space within the
St John WA Museum. The existing displays relied heavily on traditional glass cabinets, limiting visitor engagement and making it difficult to tell a cohesive story.

The brief was to create a more flexible and engaging space that could reflect the organisation’s long history while supporting future change. As the museum sits within an active operational environment, the design also needed to accommodate staff, volunteers and visitors.

Creative Spaces developed a contemporary exhibition design that prioritised accessibility and interaction. Key objects were selected to support clear narratives, while digital and hands-on elements were integrated throughout the space. Touchscreens, video content and interactive features provide multiple ways for visitors to explore the collection.

The redesigned museum now offers a welcoming and dynamic experience. It supports learning and reflection while reinforcing St John WA’s ongoing role in community care and service.
