The City of Wanneroo engaged Creative Spaces to develop an interpretation plan for Wanneroo Town Centre, with the aim of making local history, culture and identity more visible in public spaces. While the area contains important landmarks and stories, these were not always easy for residents or visitors to notice or understand.

The project focused on the town centre as the heart of local life. By concentrating efforts in this area, the plan identifies priority sites and stories and provides clear guidance for how interpretation could be introduced through signage, digital content and public art.

Creative Spaces developed a set of clear themes and practical recommendations that could be applied over time as the town centre continues to change. The plan considers how people move through the area, where information is most useful, and how stories can sit alongside new development. Accessibility, clarity and long-term use were key considerations throughout.

The completed interpretation plan gives the City a strong framework to guide future public realm projects. It supports a stronger sense of place, builds community pride and ensures local stories remain part of everyday life as Wanneroo grows.
