For 190 years The West Australian has helped shape Western Australia.
As the paper of record, The West has evolved with our State and kept its people informed during almost two centuries of great change. It’s also grown and adapted in order to keep up with the rapid shifts in technology and the demands of the 24-hour news cycle.
In celebration of this significant milestone, Creative Spaces designed an exhibition taking visitors behind the scenes to show what goes into developing a daily newspaper. Hosted at the WA Museum Boola Bardip, the exhibition brings together a sprawling 20-metre floor graphic, exhibition panels, objects from The West’s archives, behind-the-scenes video footage, custom-printed ottomans, an activity sheet and a touchscreen kiosk developed by the WA Museum team, dedicated to Dean Alston, The West’s popular cartoonist.
This project was completed in September 2023 and will be open to the public until the end of January 2024. More information can be read about this project on Campaign Brief and The West.
Another temporary exhibition designed by Creative Spaces is Finding Your Place and Your People.
