Following on from the recommendations and concepts developed in an interpretation plan, Creative Spaces designed new interpretive signs for both the Wilkinson Homestead and John Okey Davis Park. The sites sit adjacent to each other on the Canning River and are significant to the Gosnells region due to the orchards that were developed here over time. The interpretive signs were designed in response to the main themes identified: Road, rocks, rail and river. Materials specified included ‘future-wood’ in response to the environmental conditions.
In addition to exterior signage, Creative Spaces also designed the interpretive signage that is located inside the Homestead and Packing Shed. These celebrate the cultural and social history of the site itself as well as the broader community.
The space was last updated in February 2019.
